Mike is also the Academy’s Program Director.

Glen began coaching at F.C. Portland Academy in the fall of 2000. Glen has coached at the University ofPortland Soccer camps since 1996 and was the Franklin High School Varsity Women's Soccer Head Coach from 2003-2006. Prior to being Franklin's Varsity coach, he was the JV coach (2000-2003) and assisted at Clackamas HS Varsity Girls’ soccer team in 1999 with Darren Lilla. Glen was also the JV coach at Jesuit High School in 1995. Glen holds an English FA Preliminary Coaching License as well as his USSF 'D' License and KNVB License. Glen was a 4-year letterman at Concordia University, Portland, OR (1996 - 2000) graduating with a BA in Health and Physical Education in 2000. Glen taught HS for six years but is now a Technical Analyst & Lighting Specialist with Ecos.

Skye began coaching for F.C. in 2008 and has coached U-14 and U 11. Previously, Skye was the assistant coach for Hillsboro High School, and helped coach the team to the first NWOC Championship. Skye played for FC Portland (1996 & 1999) where she was a State Champion and a Far West Regional runner-up before playing at University of Nevada Las Vegas. Skye currently works at Nike.

Brian began coaching at F.C. Portland Soccer Academy in 1990. Since 1983 Brian coached the Girls Varsity Soccer team at Catlin Gabel, where he also teaches. As a player, Brian was a member of the Vancouver Whitecaps (1974 – 1976) and the Portland Timbers 1977 – 1982). He was also a member of the Canadian National Team (1972 – 1982).

Caitlin began coaching at F.C. Portland Soccer Academy in 2004. She was the starting goalkeeper at The Catlin Gabel School (1997 – 2000), where her team won the OSAA State Championship all four years. She went on to play Division 1 college soccer at The Colorado College (2000-2004) and was voted the rookie of the week among Independent schools. She was a member of the Portland Metro Soccer Club (1992-1995) and FC Portland (1995-2000) where her teams attended the Regional Tournament on five occasions. She was also a member of the Oregon Olympic Development Program for three years. Caitlin currently holds her national "D" license for coaching. Caitlin also assists with the Academy’s goalkeepers.

Darren began coaching at F.C. Portland Soccer Academy in 1999. Darren has coached at the University of Portland Soccer Camps as well as with the Manchester United Soccer Schools. He has also coached at Three Rivers, Portland City United and Columbia Premier Soccer Clubs since 1990. Darren was also the Head Coach for the Girl’s Varsity at Clackamas High School. Darren holds both an USSF “A” License and an USSF “National Youth License”, as well as Dutch Youth Coaching Course. As a player Darren was a three-year letterman at Evergreen State College (1985-1987).

He also played for Edgehill Soccer Club Youth Program for Chester City FC. Michael coached with CCUSA at Camp Bloomfield in Malibu, CA as well as coached with UK Soccer. He is currently a student at PSU and Head Varsity Girls Coach at Valley Catholic High School.

Garrett Smith – Age Group Coordinator

Garrett began coaching at F.C. Portland Soccer Academy in 1992. Garrett is the Associate Director of Soccer at the University of Portland (2003 – Present) after serving 11 years as an Assistant for both the Men and Women’s Teams. In 2002 and 2005, the University of Portland garnered the NCAA National Championship Titles. As a player, Garrett attended the University of Portland (1986 – 1989) before beginning his professional career. He played outdoor for the Portland Timbers (1989), Seattle Storm
(1990), and indoor for the San Diego Soccers (1991) and the Portland Pride (1993 – 1995).

Colin is new to the FC Portland coaching staff this year. Born and raised in Portland, he attended Grant High School and is an alumnus of FC Portland (1994-1997). He also played for the Oregon ODP team ('93 - '97). He attended Chapman University in southern California where he played all four years and graduated in 2001.
Austra Bloms – Ruby

Austra is new to the F.C. Portland coaching staff this year. She moved to Oregon from Minnesota in 1989. She played for Oregon ODP, LOSC, and Westside Christian H.S. on the Boy’s team (as her school had no Girls’ Program). Austra received a scholarship to play for Concordia University in Portland. She tore her ACL at the beginning of her sophomore year, red-shirted, and was recruited to play for Florida Atlantic University. On a full ride at FAU she won a spot on the U.S. National Deaf Soccer Team in 1999
led her team to an historic 1st-place international win, and landed a permanent spot on the 2005 Women's Deaf Team Olympics squad. She was selected as co-captain for seven years and led the team to an Olympic Gold Medal at the 2005 Deaf Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia. Austra has been coaching soccer since 1994 and is thrilled to be back in Oregon as a part of the Valiants coaching staff at Valley Catholic H.S. and as part of the F.C. Portland soccer community.

Tudor joined F.C. Portland Academy in 2008. He grew up in England and played for Norwich City and Southampton squads. He first came to the U.S. in 2001 as a player with the Saints F.C. The exposure of winning 3 USA Cups led him to be recruited to play at Saint John's University, MN. Tudor graduated in
2006 with a degree in sociology, a Conference Championship, a record for second all-time goals scored, and the school record for points in a single season. After meeting his fiancée (a Portland local) while studying in Australia, Tudor moved to Oregon in 2008. He currently is the Head Coach at Valley Catholic.

Shelly played with F.C. Portland '93-99 and with Jesuit High School '95-'98. In college she played for the University of Portland before transferring and finishing at Oregon State University. After college she coached with F.C. Portland and Hillsboro High School for 2 years before moving to California. Shelly moved back to Portland a couple of years ago and resumed her coaching. Shelly currently holds a
national "C" license, and will be coaching at Lincoln High School this Fall.

Rob is the Assistant Coach for University of Portland Men and Women’s Teams and the Head Coach of the US Development Academy Teams at F.C. Portland. Rob previously coached Sunset High School Boys Varsity for 12 years. As a player Rob was a four-year letterman at the University of Portland (1987-1990) under Clive Charles, finishing his career with 29 goals and 14 assists. Rob was a member of the Canadian National Team 1989, and played 10 years of professional indoor soccer with the Portland Pride.

Paul has been with FC Portland since 1992 and has coached almost every age group within the club. He holds a US Soccer “A” License and the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. His playing career began in England where he played at the semi-professional level with Darwen FC in the NW Counties league. He moved to the US in 1986 and played at Warner Pacific College from 1988-1992, earning NSCAA All-
American status. During his college spell he played with the Portland Timbers in 1988. His coaching resume includes a five year spell at the University of Portland under Clive Charles as an assistant. He was also the head coach of his alma mater for the 1992 season. Paul also served as F.C. Portland’s General Manager from 1999-2004. He returned to the club after establishing a successful real estate business to coach for our Junior Academy program and is now the head coach for our U10 Boys program.

Chuck also coaches our U18 U.S. Development Academy Team. Chilo Andrade The 2009/2010 season will be Chilo’s 2nd year with F.C. Portland Academy. He grew up in Hillsboro and played professionally for the Portland Pride, Seattle Sounders, and Cascade Surge. Chilo works for Washington County Road Maintenance.

While playing for the Pilots, Gavin was named West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year and Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Nike Portland Invitational in 2004, and made significant contributions to the Pilots on-field successes, starting over 50 games and scoring five goals.

The 2009/2010 season is Zach’s first year with F.C. Portland Academy. He grew up in Colorado playing the Colorado Rush, Lakewood Fury, and Colorado ODP. He lived and trained with the Livingston Football Club in Scotland. Zach played collegiate soccer at Rockhurst University in King City, Missouri. He has recently moved to the Portland area and is working as a Film and Video Production Assistant.

Joey returns to F.C. Portland Academy in 2007 after stints as both an original youth player (86-88) and a Coach (94-95). He is coaching the U11 Boys’ Team this season. Joey has also coached at Linfield College (Asst. 94, 95), West Linn High School (98-07, Girls League Champions 02, 05, COY 02, 05), and Gladstone High School (93); as well as Oregon City, Willamette United, and Lake Oswego Soccer Clubs (98-07). Joey was selected for the United States National Team in 92 & 96 during his seven year professional career, which included playing with the San Francisco Bay Blackhawks, Portland Pride, Seattle Sounders (A-League Champion 96, Play-Off MVP), and the Portland Pythons. Joey graduated from the University
of Portland with a B.S. in Biology, and while at U.P. earned All-American (1989), All-Region (89-91), and All-Conference (89-91) honors. He was selected to the U.S. U-23 National Team in 1990 and was a Hermann Trophy Finalist in 1991. Joey was honored to be inducted into University of Portland’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.

Nick is returning to the Academy this year as a coach. He grew up in Portland, playing his club soccer for F.C. Portland and his high school soccer for Jesuit High School. From 2004 until 2008, Nick started 59 games and appeared in 68 for Gonzaga University. He was a key member or Gonzaga's 2007 NCAA College Cup team, and captained the Bulldogs in 2008. Nick graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Accounting. He is excited to pass on the traditions and
skills that he learned while in the Academy, to the next generation of players.

winning team of 1994.

2009 marks Eric’s first year with F.C. Portland. He comes highly recommended from Seacoast United, his former club in New Hampshire. Eric played for Seacoast as a youth. He captained them to six straight state championships from 1995-2001. He playing career continued at the University of New Hampshire where he was a four year starter as a center midfielder and two year captain. He continued his playing c in the USL Div. II with the New Hampshire Phantoms, and in 2006 played in Norway in the 2nd Div. with teams Skied and KFUM. Eric has coached U-10, U-14 and U-17 boys.

Cory joined F.C. Portland in 2008 – this will be his second year coaching U16 Boys. He is also the Varsity Boys Head Coach at Liberty High School. Cory graduated from Wilson High School and was 1st Team All-
State as a senior. His club team won five Oregon State Cup Championships (U14, U16, U17, U18, and U19) and was a Regional Finalists in 1992 and 1996. He played two years at Santa Barbara City College and two years at Warner Pacific College in Portland. He was a Regional Team selection in 1995 and also played two years of semi-pro for Italia United of the Central Coast league in Southern California.

Bill began coaching at F.C. Portland Soccer Academy in 1986. Bill is the Director of Soccer at the University of Portland (2003 – Present) after serving 17 years as an Asst. for both the Men and Women’s Teams. As a professional player Bill played eight seasons for Cardiff City in England, before moving to
the states in 1978. Signed and played three years with the NASL’s Washington Diplomats. His seven-year NASL experience also took him the Dallas Tornado (1981), Portland Timbers (1982) and San Jose Earthquakes (1983-84). His final two pro campaigns were in the Major Indoor Soccer League with the Minnesota Strikers (1985) and the Wichita Wings (1986).

Adam is just beginning his tenure with FC Portland. Adam coached and helped at the high school, club, and state level in Northern California for the last 15 years. In addition to training the goalkeepers for FC Portland he is also coaching and teaching English at Century High School. Adam was a four-year letterman at San Jose State University from 1993-96.
