This is the time of year when, unfortunately, a number of parents and players become slightly more lax when it comes to cars, locks and property in parking lots, like Liberty High School. With windows slightly down because of the heat and a lot of new faces coming into and away from the site, it’s not unusual to see a spike up in the number of thefts in cars and offices.
Over the summer, Nike employees experienced a significant increase in the number of car burglaries on their campus and have stepped up bike patrols and surveillance videos and placed a high number of “DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR” signs at the entrance to every parking lot.
To avoid the same type of loss happening to our families and players, please add a layer of caution to your normal routine if you park and stay at Liberty during evening training sessions.
Keep your car locked, keep valuables out of sight and inform any coach (Liberty or FC) of any suspicious activity around cars on campus that you observe.
We want they entire year to be a good one – let’s all be careful at Liberty. |

Portland legend Clive Charles had a profound impact on soccer throughout the Pacific Northwest region and beyond. Eight years after his passing, former players still have coach Charles on their mind.
When Kasey Keller takes the field at Jeld-Wen Field on Sunday, he will look to the northeast stands and get inspiration.
It won’t be the fans, though, but rather the retired jersey of Clive Charles, the legendary University of Portland coach and former Timbers defender who Keller credits for much of his success as a professional.
“For no other reason, I love to play there to see Clive’s name up in the stadium,” Keller said. “It’s a huge honor for myself to have been a part of anything Clive was a part of.”

We are so proud of the 97G Navy team for, not only winning the Title, but the way they played in winning it. In classic FC Portland style, they possessed the ball and showed great skill and composure moving the ball around while looking to be dangerous. A huge congratulations to Miguel, Steffanie and the girls for the way they represented FC Portland.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE U16 BOYS FOR THEIR NWCL CHAMPIONSHIP and for the RUNNER-UP FINISH AT CROSSFIRE CHALLENGE CUP

Thank you for helping to make the gathering at Langdon Farms Golf Course on June 10th another great celebration!
One of our truly fun non-soccer events of the year – The Clive Charles Memorial Tournament – was a success on so many fronts and I want to thank everyone who helped to make it such a terrific event. The weather fully cooperated and most of us were dry from start to finish – due in large part to the Nike golf gear and so I want to give special recognition to our friends and sponsors at Nike Soccer and to our Sustaining Sponsor – the Far Post Soccer Supply Company - for their extremely generous support of this annual celebration and of the scholarship fund.
