Congratulations on your selection to F.C. Portland Academy, and welcome to our 2012-2013 season, the Academy’s 25th Anniversary year!
Our coaches are looking forward to working with the newly formed teams to prepare each of our players for the upcoming year of training and competition. They will continue to build upon the success of this past season which ended with Academy teams winning five Oregon Premier League State Cup Championships. Several of those teams will be heading directly to Chicago for US Club Soccer’s National Cup competition.
The first step in our new 2012-2013 season will be the All Academy meeting for players and their parents on Wednesday, May 16th at 7:00pm in the Liberty High School auditorium.
Our Head Coaches, Rob Baarts and Mike dePinna, will present information about the upcoming season. Then you will meet with your team coaches who will outline the summer schedule for training and proposed tournaments.
In addition, representatives from OHSU will speak to our players, parents, and coaches about concussions and the proper way to prevent them or deal with the aftermath, should one occur. They also will have a table in the lobby to provide further information about this serious issue in youth (and adult) sports.
If you have not already completed and returned the attached Acceptance Form, please do so by the May 16th meeting. You may bring all completed registration and release forms along with your payment to the All Academy meeting and give them to either Mary Ford, Academy Registrar, or Kathy Bryant, Business Manager, who will be there as well. Players may begin training only when their completed forms and payments are received in the F.C. Portland office.
All of us within the Academy are looking forward to welcoming our new players and welcoming back the returning players who helped to make 2011-2012 an outstanding season! |

After a long OPL regular season and 4 weeks of Tournament competition, FC Portland is proud to announce 5 of our teams brought home State Cup Championships.
Congratulations to ALL of our teams on another successful season of competition which was capped with 10 teams making appearances in the State Cup finals. The following teams brought home championships while outscoring our opponents 15-6.

With such a strong showing FC Portland placed the most teams in the finals as well as having more State Cup Champions than any other club in the competition.

As the State Cup finals approach this weekend we want to congratulate ALL of our teams for the growth and style of soccer they play.
FC Portland placed all 16 Navy teams, as well as 1 White team in the Quarterfinals in 16 divisions (U11-U18 boys and girls).
• 15 teams advanced to the State Semi-finals.
• 10 teams have advanced to the State Finals in 16 divisions which is more than any other club in the State.
Good luck to our 10 Finalists teams and congratulations to ALL our players for another successful season.
Come support out teams and wear your FC Portland colors this weekend at Tualitan Hills Recreational Center as our teams look to bring home the State Cup title.

 FC Portland Academy is happy to announce the return of soccer in the sand the weekend of June 16th and 17th in Seaside, Oregon .

The girls shutout their opponents in all 4 games in Las Vegas, including the championship, outscoring their opponents 17-0 in the process. Congrats girls and keep it up!

Born in 1951, Clive Charles grew up playing street soccer before joining West Ham United youth teams at the age of 12. When he turned 15, Clive signed with the English First Division club West Ham United as an apprentice, following in the footsteps of his older brother John. Clive turned professional and joined the first team in 1970. The club loaned him briefly (1971-1972) to the Montreal oin Canada - part of the North American Soccer League (NASL). In 1972, the defender made the first of his 14 League and 1 Cup appearances for “The Hammers”.
