Junior Academy (U7-U8 | Boys & Girls)

Overview

The Junior Academy Program is designed to introduce young players to the game of soccer in a fun, positive, and engaging environment.


At this early stage, the focus is on developing a love for the game while building fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, and receiving. Players are introduced to basic concepts of the sport through activities and small-sided games that encourage creativity, confidence, and enjoyment.


Our goal is to create an environment where players are excited to learn, develop, and keep coming back because they love playing soccer.


Player Pathway & Development

Junior Academy serves as the first step within the FC Portland pathway, helping players build a strong foundation before progressing into the Foundation Academy and beyond.


This program emphasizes:

  • Ball mastery and individual confidence
  • Introduction to teamwork and game concepts
  • Learning through play in a low-pressure environment
  • Developing positive habits and enjoyment of the game


Program Information

Age Groups

  • Boys & Girls U7 (August 1, 2019 - July 31, 2020)
  • Boys & Girls U8 (August 1, 2018 - July 31, 2019)

Season

  • Summer 2026
  • Fall 2026
  • Winter 2027
  • Spring 2027

Schedule

  • 2 sessions per week
  • Tuesday: Training sessions
  • Saturday or Sunday: Game day

Locations:

  • Liberty High School
  • South Meadows Middle School

Cost:

  • $200 per season
