Quatama Field Project

FC Portland's two new turf fields in Hillsboro!

Building a Home for the Future of FC Portland

Since 1987, FC Portland has focused on developing youth athletes and strengthening our community through soccer. To ensure long-term stability and year-round access to quality training environments, we are partnering with Hillsboro School District to build two turf fields at Quatama Elementary School.

This project establishes long-term, stable access to high quality training fields for FC Portland while eliminating scheduling conflicts with high school sports. It creates consistent, reliable environments for our players, families, and coaches, and opens the door for meaningful program growth and expansion. With dedicated fields, we can offer more training opportunities, enhance player development pathways, and build new programs without being limited by inconsistent or overcrowded field schedules.

More importantly, these fields allow us to maintain a true 'home field' atmosphere - give our players and sense of pride and identity while reducing the need to train and compete across multiple scattered sites or share field with other organizations.

Impact on Greater Hillsboro Community

Beyond the benefits to FC Portland, this projects creates a lasting asset for the greater Hillsboro community. By converting underutilized space into high-quality, all-weather turf fields, the project expands access to safe, dependable play spaces for Hillsboro School District students during the school day and in after-school program.

These fields will support PE classes, recess, youth sports, community events, and outdoor programs - helping more kids stay active, connect, and engaged year-round. The result is a shared community resource that strengthens wellness, inclusion, and opportunity across Hillsboro.

This project also builds on FC Portland's long-standing commitment to Hillsboro. More than 20 years ago, the club helped bring two turf fields to Liberty High School - facilities that continue to serve thousands of students and athletes today. The new Quatama fields will become the 3rd and 4th turf fields FC Portland has helped deliver to the community, reinforcing our ongoing investment in creating high-quality sports environments and expanding opportunities for youth across Hillsboro.
